Jessie Kahnweiler began her steamy love affair with moviemaking at the
University of Redlands where she immediately began ditching class in order tomake documentaries. For her thesis film, Little America, she hitchhiked across thecountry to explore the world of America’s truck drivers (and didn’t tell her Momabout it till afterwards). Her short film Stupid Questions stars Zelda Williams as Lucy,a feisty young casting assistant who holds a phony casting call in an effort to find herdream guy. The film has screened at the Hollyshorts, the Los Angeles Comedy Fest,LA shorts Festival, and has been honored with an LA Movie award of excellence.After getting dumped, Jessie wrote and co-directed the comedic short Baby Love,co-starring alongside David Koechner. Jessie also worked at JJ Abrams’ Bad RobotProductions, serving as Post-Production Coordinator on Super 8. Jessie was selectedfor the 6 Points Artist Fellowship where she is currently writing, directing, andstarring in a comedic web series entitled Dude, Where’s my Chutzpah? Jessie can’tafford therapy so she makes films.
